On Saturday, April 27, 2019, the Illinois Writing Project broings the Writing Palooza to Nobel Elementary School.

The Writing Palooza is a celebration of writing. It is NOT a contest but rather a performance and learning opportunity. Students accompanied by an adult (parent/guardian or teacher) from Chicago and suburbs will participate in a variety of writing workshops througout the day as well as submit writing to be shared throughout the day.

This fun program is for students enrolled in Kindergarten through 8th grade accompanied by an adult from Chicago and Suburban Schools.

  • Six students per school represented grade ranges K-2, 3-5 and 6-8
  • Schools decided on their own protocol for determining student represesntation

Light Breakfast Coffee/Juice/Rolls

Opening ceremony with keynote speaker

Writing Workshop Sessions: Active participation in two writing workshop sessions facilitated by guest speakers and writing workshop teacher leaders

Lunch

Closing ceremony for students to share their writing with the full body of attendees
